Mike Buckley

Senior Fire Risk Assessor

Mike’s broad expertise in providing fire risk assessments and health and safety strategies to all types of premises, from shops and hotels through to Grade 1 Listed heritage sites has proven invaluable in his role at Global HSE.

As a Senior Fire Risk Assessor, he travels frequently all over the United Kingdom, working with a variety of clients, helping them to understand the risks their property and staff may face, and providing solutions for their protection and safety. It’s this expertise that also sees him carry out fire training to personnel, and his position requires not only a great deal of knowledge and dedication, but continuous training to ensure that clients are given the best placed advice to deal with a variety of scenarios and emergency situations.

Mike’s expertise stems from long service in both the Leicestershire and Buckinghamshire Fire services, including a spell on the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team, where he was responsible for the modernisation of the Brigade’s mobilising systems. He retired in 1996. This was followed by several roles in both the security and health and safety industries, before joining Global HSE.

Hobbies & Interests

Mike is married with one daughter and three small dogs. A previous member of the Leicester Morris Men, he takes a keen interest in culture and traditions. He has a particular fondness for folk music, and regularly helped to run the Cambridge Folk Festival. Mountaineering and reading help to fill up any other spare time.
