Passive Fire Protection refers to the products installed in a building in order to improve its fire safety. The products might be part of the building or installed to the building to enhance its fire protection system.
Passive fire protection limits the damage to buildings, building assets and most importantly people. It does this by limiting the spread the fire, heat and smoke, protecting escape routes and protecting the building’s structure. Basic passive fire protection products are: fire doors, fire resisting walls, doors and ceilings, fire stopping and fire protection for structural members.
