NOTTINGHAM — Global HSE Group, a leader in fire safety, consultancy and training, has successfully achieved certification for Common Assessment Standards (CAS) for higher-risk buildings (HRBs), retaining its prestigious Constructionline ‘Gold’ status. This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to compliance, fire safety, and operational excellence within the UK.

This certification was introduced by Constructionline in response to the Building Safety Act 2022 and achieving the accreditation directly coincides with Global HSE Group’s strengthening expertise in fire safety for high-risk buildings. By demonstrating its full compliance with the most stringent industry standards, this accreditation provides Global with the ability to meet changing legislation and improved fire safety standards whilst also simplifying the pre-qualification process for prospective clients.

The application process required Global HSE Group to provide over 120 pieces of evidence, including:

  • Competency management: Ensuring all personnel possess the necessary skills and qualifications.
  • Workforce communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication channels.
  • Client engagement: Fostering strong, transparent relationships with clients.
  • The ‘Golden Thread’ of information: A key principle of the Building Safety Act 2022 that ensures a comprehensive and accurate record of a building’s design, construction, and management is maintained throughout its lifecycle.

Andrew Cooper, Managing Director of Global HSE Group, commented:”Achieving this accreditation is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. It provides further reassurance that our internal processes align with the highest standards, ensuring we are well-equipped to manage the complexities of higher-risk building projects. This reaffirms our position as a trusted and compliant contractor and consultant in the UK for fire safety”.

This renewed certification not only maintains Global HSE Group’s ‘Gold’ status, but it also reinforces its leading position in the UK’s fire safety landscape, giving clients and partners confidence in its ability to deliver compliant, high-quality projects.

What is the Common Assessment Standard (CAS)?

The Common Assessment Standard (CAS) is a cross-industry initiative developed to create a single, standardised pre-qualification questionnaire. It was created to reduce the need for contractors to complete multiple different questionnaires for various clients. By aligning with this standard, businesses can demonstrate their compliance in a unified way, saving time and resources for both buyers and suppliers. This initiative, supported by leading bodies like Build UK and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), streamlines the procurement process, making it more efficient and reliable for everyone involved.
