Global HSE Group, industry leaders in comprehensive fire safety, specialising in passive fire protection and technical fire consultancy, are delighted to announce the expansion of Global Academy with the appointment of Chris Sharman.
Chris returns to Global HSE Group in the role of Head of Technical and Training where he will be responsible for the delivery and development of training within the Global Academy, whilst also providing Technical Support to the operational and Fire Engineering branches of the group.
Chris has been involved in the fire safety sector since the late 1990s in both the active and passive sectors. He has worked in roles from installation to contracts, sales to manufacturing and from Technical to Training, with his most recent role as the Training Manager for trade association the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).
Over the past 12 months, Global Academy has trained over 100 participants in the Level 3 Fire Door Inspections Course accredited with ABBE and WFST. The course set an industry benchmark, meeting the needs for legal requirement for the responsible person(s) of multi-occupant residential buildings over 11 meters to undertake inspections annually on fire doors at the entrances of individual domestic premises.
Ross O’Loughlin, Director at Global HSE group commented, “We’re delighted that Chris Sharman has re-joined us at Global HSE Group to drive our exceptional Global Academy forward. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the fire safety sector, but specifically in the delivery of high quality training. We’ve invested a lot of time and money in our Global Academy, with the objective of upskilling and enhancing individual knowledge within the industry, and Chris joining us demonstrates our commitment to excellence. We will shortly be launching an additional three courses, so keep an eye out for those.”
